The lime doser is used for the automatic addition of lime (calcium carbonate).
When burning fuels such as cereal grain which has a tendency to form slag, i.e. the ash becomes so hot that it melts at the bottom of the burner pipe, the lime doser automatically adds a suitable quantity of lime to minimize slag formation.
